I’m going to buck the trend here. I watched lots of auditor videos, especially that dick chap. I learned a lot about where I’m allowed to fly and what the laws are, what information I have to give the police and when.
BUT, I also learned where the phrase “don’t be a dick” possibly comes from and how NOT to fly my drone
I wish I had spent more time asking questions in here instead.
I’m just down the road in Bridgend and there are lots of places to fly. For you, the only real concern is Swansea Airport. Other than that, you’ve pretty much got the Gower peninsula to roam around in.
I also have a Mini3Pro and happy to provide what advice I can. Been flying for a few years but due to personal circumstances haven’t got out as much as I’d like with it. I’ll also suggest you join @group-wales - it doesn’t get much action but if mentioned in a post it flags the post to all those that are in the group - hopefully Wales based peeps.
p.s. tried to use M 3 P as a single word and GA says it’s being reviewed - lol
Thanks for all your comments on here, much appreciated and did not realise so many with the local area, Bridgend also ( thanks for your comments, hope you get out more)
This is what I also asked thd local council
Another question, do you have information regarding your authority’s regulations/policy on the recreational use of drones from land underyour jurisdiction that I could read?
This was the reply
No we don’t sorry. We have focused on commercial usage of our facilities and land as this requires our staff involvement.
I have my PLI here but i also get it with my drone cover in case i damage my drones. Which is better i don’t know, i haven’t needed to claim on PLI in 10yrs of flying.
I’ve got my PLI cover here too. I use DJI Care Refresh to cover self inflicted damage
Most on here will vouch the DJI’s Care Refresh is normally no questions asked replacement
