So might be a good idea to only fly it out off pheasant season so not to have that issue and to keep the peace.
Just combine your flying with a nice walk.
Youāll definitely enjoy retirement you donāt have more time you just go slower I canāt wait for good weather and. The end of COVID-19 itās driving me nuts
I would have to walk a long way if i did that and iām no spring chicken thatās the whole point of the drone for me.
So drones are not allowed to fly over roads then?
The restrictions are adding up more and more kind of taking away the want to get one now. If Iām going to have to walk the half mile to the nearest footpath i may as well just take an SLR with a zoom lens and do what Iāve been doing.
I just thought how good it would be to not have to walk that distance to the footpaths and get a drone with a good camera, as iām no youngster, but the laws are staking up and the fun side is being replaced with legislations and thatās before Iāve even got in the air
Living in the middle of nowhere i would have thought i would be safe to fly but if a road is a barrier then i may just forget it because they will not stop building roads and houses going up everywhere with them will be more roads and that would just push drone flying into a tighter and tighter Fly Zone.
From the info i have got and read i think i missed the good times with drones.
Depends on how much to the rules you want to play.
Walking is good for you at any age and youāll be surprised at how quickly 20 miles is nothing
Thereās always buses too.
lol if i lived anywhere else ya thatās an option, but this farmer doesnāt like people walking the footpaths so whatās he going to be like if he ever sees a drone nice thought, but i want to be 100% legit. So i get no comebacks.
So is that no flying over roads for all drones of this size and lower say the mavic mini 2 do you know?
Mini 2 much fewer restrictions
Looked at your suggested route, gets very close to the school and village for anything other than a mini (if you want to be 100% legal).
*do as I say not as I do
Ya thatās just the outer area i want to fly inside that area i would not go that side i would go straight over the road and into the lower side off the fields otherwise i might get problems up in the village because thatās up hill by a lot and not any wildlife there lol i put no thought into the red line, but itās a rough to see if it is ok.
As before the staying legal and overflying the road is the issue
Have a look at good to go on DroneScene
i have seen that website thanks some good info itās where i got my SS from, OK thanks for all your help i learned a lot in my short time and the walking up the hill to get a bus is very close to the footpath and without going into personal detail itās not going to happen a lot so i will have a rethink, and maybe they might even change the law, so we can fly over roads but need to be above 60 ft or something, wishful thinking maybe. But hey its crazy and Amazon might get our parcels via drones one day soon
Have a watch of @ianinlondonās last few videos, he explains it quite well
Thatās a great vid, and he explains it very well indeed, But rules my god, did the government sit down and say to themselves how can we make it the most confusing as possible.
i understand most of it, but some are just ridiculous and my mind was made up after hearing him from 9:30 he says āwith under 250g and the certain certificate/rule you can fly up to people but not over them wtf.ā you can fly in congested area with under 250g but not over a country road again wtf.
Happy flying and Mike thank you my friend for all this info and help, Iām going to sit back now to see what happens in the coming months and work out whatās best for me.
All the best to drone flyers keep the skies buzzing
Hi,
My first rantā¦
Iām based in Horsham. A frustrated flyer, should I fly and risk itā¦No. Just want to add I own an Autel Evo 2 pro. My son and I have been flying for about 3 years, I too would like to fly more in my area but as for rules! Horsham district has a by-law that no taking off or landing or use of an RC is permitted. For me I see this as a NFZ in the horsham district, and it covers a big area. The only place we have the opportunity to fly is in our local flying club field. This is closed at the moment⦠Covid! Otherwise itās a lot of referencing in the areas before we can fly. Wherever you go there will always be foot paths, people, more people and livestock.
Some apps that help are out of touch! Take Brighton Pier for instance, there are some fantastic images and videoās of it in the photographers hour, but whereās the take off site. Drones of this size EVO! have a long range but my eyes are not binocular vision.
Iām not going to hang my tool belt, as the different perspective from a drone is the in thing when watching documentaries.
The regulatory rules will change when the sales of these lovely sub 250g drones in the wrong hands become a nuisance.
What ever you decide, fly safe.
Perhaps a not so local meet up when all this blows over.
Foreshore ?
Hi milkmanchris
Yes perhaps Iām being a bit cautious as many times Iāve been there before sun up with a hot coffee , to see dog walkers. Dogs that maybe looking for a crunchy snack and Iām invading there space.
Iāve placed small cones out with a sign, pre flight checks to have to pack up without flight because of free roaming dogs who canāt read.
Perhaps a group session with like minded flyers is the answer?
In normal times we do get a lot of club meets.
Fantastic
Canāt wait for normal
An excellent choice of drone!
There are a few Evo 2 owners here, but not many. We should stick together
Well, as @milkmanchris said, itās just here in this pink area - not far at all:
