You could also come along to the Big meet and meet great people in person.
Sounds great !, ill have to do the Sunday due to work but i will check the dates.
The only thing about sunday is it is starting to wind down, so if you get there early doors that would be fine. Some members attending are coming from scotland, so they will be leaving early. @Foley and myself will be there till the end. Having said winding down, there is normaly a fair few members around still at midday, and into the early afternoon, just to give you a heads up. However you are still more than welcome ![]()
What she said… lol
I will see what i can do, getting there early is no issue but unfortunately my work comes with having to work Sat mornings ![]()
Im currently in the DJI story Birmingham as we speak picking up the drone and spending more money ![]()
Very easily done ![]()
Im as good as setup now, ive just got to search info in here for buying the right filters etc. I keek on reading Freewell is a good brand
This is such a great weekend if you can make it @Tom1980 i attended my first one last year and loved it. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming there. Its great to out faces to the screen names as well. I was encouraged by Sarah @FoleyMrs and Russ @Foley to attend it and i didnt regret it, glad that i attended it. Also attended the one back in June as well.
Like Sarah there are stil a fair few around on the Sunday if you can make it earlyish in the morning or even cone along after you finish work on the Saturday if that is feasible.
The couple i have attended i have left late afternoon/early evening.
If you can make it, you will find that there will be a lot of knowledgeable people there that can give you any help advice and support you might need/want.
Also for the same on here as well. As Sarah said before no question is a silly question if you need to ask or if you cannot find the answer you are looking for already on here
Congratulations on biting the bullet and picking up your drone. Bet you cant wait to get out there now to try and fly it
From the bits ive looked at they are one if the better brands to go for.
I bouggt a set if filters last year but to be honest ive never used them. There are mixed opinions on about getting them
Yer very excited, ive done everything now from firmware updates to charging the batteries, oh and watched some beginners guides to flying. I think for the first few flights ill just get used to the controls and flying so the anxiety goes away. And then ill try and use the camera and its features.
That is good that you are all prepared now. Not sure you wpuld have checked or not is if there arexany firmware updated for each battery since they are intelligent batteries.
Also dont be concerned if you dont fly your drone for a few days and notice the batteries depleat slightly, this is natural as tey are designed to do that to do that to safeguard themselves.
One thing Russ @Foley taught me to do to get used to the controls is to think of a shape like a square and fly the drone to make that shape. And another good one is the figure of 8. Hope that makes sense
Thanks for the info, ill check the battery updates this morning before I head on out. The shapes thing sounds like a good idea too, hopefully it wont take too long for me to get comfortable with it.
Well after my first days flying yesterday i can see how easy it is to get hooked. I only did some basic maneuvers and landing just to get used to it plus working out the basic functionality on the controller to see where everything is. I live a 5 mins walk to Harthill Hayes so it was a good place to start.
No worries you are welcome about the info. Thats what we are all here for to help one another.
Glad that your first lot of flights went well for you. That is the best thing to do really start off basic and get used to the drone, how it handles and the RC. And each time you grow more confident you can do more difficult maneuvers and then add in takeming some great shots either photos or video.
The only other thing i would said, btw im no expert but just try not to rush things and just take your time at learning it all
Thanks a lot, one thing i did encounter today was the sun making the screen on the controller super hard to see. I have got one of those StartRC sun hoods but it was still a pain to see much.
No worries you are most welcome mate anytime.
Oh yeah i do find that at times with the sun on the screen. I know several people who do use those sun hoods, i have thought about getting one but never got around to getting one
Welcome to the group. We are yet to trust ourselves in the store and it is pretty close to us.
Maybe one day
Welcome Tom. Happy flying!
Thanks for the welcome ![]()
