Hodge Close Quarry, Coniston, Lake District - Added to Iconic Landscapes and Ancient Sites in South Lakeland, North West

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

A 3 mile single track road bring you to the Quarry, small free car park and then a short walk to the flooded main shaft.

NT land surrounds the site, but the quarry is not on NT land, making it a useful TOAL spot for some fun.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 06/04/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.

Climbed here back in the 80s. Lovely to see it again. It’s such a unique place. Nice video - love the reflection shot!

@AlbionDrones Another great video, Suzanne, loved the reflections and the flying, as ever, was silkier than a silky thing! :hugs:

Another climber here! I used to climb back in 70’s & 80’s. Too fat and unfit now. One thing I’d have really liked to have done is film climbers (with their consent, wouldn’t want to disturb their concentration) particulars at Malham which I love but it’s NT land.
