I’ll kick us off with the photos!

I’m guessing this is because I’m using a 256GB MicroSD card

If I used a 128GB it’d probably be lighter

‘Weight-gate’

Is there a leaderboard coming?

Does show he really hasnt a clue. No the police dont carry a scales.
They do however have perfectly calibrated kit if they suspect its committing an offence and is seized (where they’ll also go through flight logs, look for FCC mods etc).
They’re also briefed properly these days, if they know (or at least good confidence) a Mini 5 is over 250g then when its detected or obtained they maybe more likely to look at it to ensure its being flown correctly (Not A1 currently).

C0 has no meaning in the UK and importantly, if its over 250g the sticker is irrelevant - its NOT certified C0. Not in EASA either. DJI are violating their certification standards shipping 250g> as C0.

And even lighter once you’ve taken some footage.

I can only present my previous image and select under 250g in case I incriminate myself :joy:

“Sorry, Guv. We can’t book the drugs in to evidence today because we only calibrate the scales every other Thursday.” :man_facepalming:

I love how everyone so far has picked a different weight!

No evidence of your vote @DroneGeek :man_shrugging:

I recently snapped up an Air 3S on an unmissable deal (which, of course, does everything the new model can and more) so I’m definitely not in the market for a Mini 5 Pro, but…

…the maths teacher in me is rather enjoying the weight debate, purely as academic curiosity.

So far, and ignoring the two outliers, the mean (average) mass of the Mini 5 Pros in this sample is 251.75g, with a standard deviation of 1.25g. Now it is a very small sample size, but there is no reason to believe it isn’t representative of the current batch. This suggests that over 83% of all Mini 5 Pros will weigh more than 250.50g.

Do I think, in the real world, that this is going to impact anyone who buys a Mini 5 Pro? No, not at all! It has been given a C0 sticker for EASA, and the Police here are unlikely to weigh any drone that is being used correctly. But I do find DJI’s claims about mass of the aircraft represent a disappointing lack of honesty by the manufacturer.
