How to reduce the speed of the DJI Avata 2?

Hello,

Hope you are all well.

  1. I have a question on how to reduce the speed of the avata 2 as I want to practice going through obstacles in Normal mode but want to get the hang of it before going for normal speed or even manual mode.

  2. Are there any of you around Nottinghamshire or surrounding areas that would be up for meeting up regularly to spot each other ? I have a mini 4 but recently bought the Avata 2 so taking time to get use to it and of course with FPV legally you require a spotter.

Using the motion controller you can go very slow, just don’t press the trigger much, and you have full control it’s very easy to fly

You could always arrange a meet up, set a location date and time
Post it in the Meetups

Where the fun in that

Once you’ve took it steady through a couple of hoops, you’ll soon be ripping through them in sport mode. Then you’ll be progressing to manual mode with FPV RC 3 before you know it.

I assume you’ve took out DJI Care Refresh?

There are two options to go slower with the Avata 2. You can either turn on “Beginner Mode”, which the system should have started in when you first bought it. Beginner mode is super slow, meant literally for your first flight only. The other option is to change the “gain tuning” and limit the max speed, which you can do for each individual direction. As a beginner I found it best to limit the “vertical speed” for example, as it’s really easy to suddenly ascend quickly otherwise, and in somewhere like a wood this can be dangerous. Both of these settings are accessed in the “Control” section of the left hand menu in the Goggles, under “Motion Controller”. Hope that helps.

Hi @petetastic, it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:
