First post: I have just replaced 2 motors on the above. Flies great. One problem remaining. Transmitter shows SD card in drone when not in drone. Placed SD card in drone will not record. All calibrations/bindings completed. Please help
And welcome to GADC, Alan.
I don’t have the aforementioned drone, however a quick google search states the following…
‘I can’t find the recorded videos in my Hubsan H501. Although, I am using a brand new SD card and the drone transmitter screen can recognize the card too. I have tried many times indoors to get the camera to work but to no avail.’
Solution 1: Check if you are using the right SD card
Every model of Hubsan drone camera has an SD card recommendation. Make sure you are using the right one as per your drone model. You may opt for 32GB Class 10 SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston, Transcend, etc.
For the Hubsan H501S model, your SD card should be:
Minimum 16GB and below 64GB
Class 4 or higher and
exFAT file system
Most of the recording issues in Hubsan occur due to improper usage of the SD card. Make sure you are practicing the below while inserting or removing the SD card from the drone:
Insert the SD card when Hubsan is powered off.
Don’t turn off Hubsan H501S as soon as it lands. Wait for about three minutes before you turn off the power.
First, turn off Hubsan H501, then remove the SD card from it.
Hi @harpoon1, Started out with the Husband H501S, my Grandson now flies this drone, I’ve always used a Sandisk Ultra 32GB micro SD card formatted to Fat32 as per the Hubsan manual section below and never had any issues.
Many thanks Seahunter, The SSD card is a Scan disk 32 formatted to FAT 32. When the drone is powered up without the SD in the drone the transmitter says it is in. But will not record or show me the recording clock. This is my second H501S and have not had this issue before. I am very reluctant to dissemble the drone again as the slot is at the bottom of the drone body.
Many thanks for the assistance.
Which transmitter do you have @harpoon1, H906A or the H901A? Have you tried rebinding the transmitter and drone?
Its a H901A. Yes I have tried to rebinding which was successful. I have a second transmitter from my first Hubsan. I have rebinded this one to the drone and everything appears working and normal. Will take it out for a flight. Many thanks for your help and interest. You reminded me of the second transmitter which is also H901A.
