Hope this fits here, video shot last Wednesday (5/2/24) at Pagham Harbour and Bosham Quay which included a bit of owl hunting! Drone used was Dji Mini 3.
There were a couple or 3 used to roost here in Blackpool at a secret location (don’t know if they still do, not looked for them for years), they really are difficult to spot. Stood less than 10 ft from them and still a long time before you made them out. Their roost was in bushes just feet from the fence bordered path. So you were very lucky indeed to spot it.
Lovely music Peter and a very nice video.
Thank you.
This i great, and I love the story telling. Makes it a proper documentary. Seeing as you live in the adjacent road to me we really should be going out for a fly soon, or even having a cuppa. You can probably see me editing my videos through your windows!
Jay, thank you, yes, maybe I should spy on you with my mini 3. Meeting up would be good a Wednesday morning/lunchtime would be good for me as I am retired, I guess that may not work so well for you though if still working, so timing could be tricky. I am restricted as my wife has a long term health condition including chronic pain so I don’t like to leave her longer than necessary. She still does the washing on Mondays/Wednesdays so is happy to have me out of the way, so those are the days I escape cycling/drone flying. If you ever have a free Wednesday or Monday, give me shout. Peter.
Some beautiful evocative shots.
Coincidentally, just yesterday, someone I know posted a photo from just down the road from there - in Chichester Harbour - of a short eared owl at play …
Hi Peter, I work from home 2 days in the week so I can always accommodate mid week meets, Sounds a plan! My number is on my Youtube banner, feel free to message we your number and we can link up over the coming weeks
Sticky, thank you, I’m getting better with practice.
Great photo!
Indeed. He is a pro photographer, but only very recently got a long lens and tried his hand at bird photography.
Enjoyable -
Pleasing to see the area of your filming -
Thanks
Can neither afford or have the physical capability to carry one these days, I max out at a 300 f4, and even that’s a struggle now.
They are certainly heavy, I can’t hold my lens for long while hunting for the subject. I have a monopod at home, with hindsight, should have taken that with me😂
Thanks for sharing video . It brought back some happy memories , we used to visit Bosham a lot when i lived down south now live in the Highlands .
Thanks .
