contacted dji advised should have had uk0 label advised i was concerned that from jan 2028 it would be classed as a legacy drone i was told only new in stock after 1st jan would be uk0 if older stock then nothing can be done. any ideas what will happen in 2028. i might have a dji mini 6 pro by then but i am a little upset that they can not send me uk0 label. i did send copy of invoice with date on.
Only new drones to market after 1st January 2026 need a UK class mark.
All other drones on the market prior to that date donât.
I thought it was only ânew to marketâ drones that would be classified as UK
Edit:- beat me to it @PingSpike
It isnât DJI that makes the rule as far as this is concerned, itâs the CAA - who have now appointed themselves as the UK market authority.
From what Iâve been told (CAA source) from Jan 2026 to Dec 31st 2027: drones marked with an EU âCâ mark can be flown as equivalent to the appropriate âUKâ classification. From 01.01.28: that will change.
The inference was that after 01.01.28: âCâ marked drones will also be shunted into the A4 Legacy Drone classification.
So, if youâre about to buy a drone that you want to use as a recreational user in A1 sub cat for more than 18 months: make sure itâs new stock that has the official âUKâ class mark.
Which, at this moment in time is, is only the Avata 360, I believe, which may be a bit niche for many people.
So the better question to ask DJI might be, âWhat new drones do you have coming to the UK market before 2028?â I canât imagine they donât have plans to resell something to all the current A1 flyers that will suddenly get relegated to A4. Itâs almost like theyâre in league with the CAA. ![]()

I can see the first drone being released in the Uk with a uk label could well be the DJI Lito series which should be released sometime this year.
@Skyla donât forget the DJI Avata 360 already ships with a UK1 class mark on it ![]()
I have a Neo 2 with both a C0 and a UK0
I had another go clarifying this with DJI support this evening⌠got a different answer than last time.
