I brought a dji mini 4 pro in feb 2026 with C0 label

contacted dji advised should have had uk0 label advised i was concerned that from jan 2028 it would be classed as a legacy drone i was told only new in stock after 1st jan would be uk0 if older stock then nothing can be done. any ideas what will happen in 2028. i might have a dji mini 6 pro by then but i am a little upset that they can not send me uk0 label. i did send copy of invoice with date on.

Only new drones to market after 1st January 2026 need a UK class mark.

All other drones on the market prior to that date don’t.

I thought it was only “new to market” drones that would be classified as UK
Edit:- beat me to it @PingSpike

It isn’t DJI that makes the rule as far as this is concerned, it’s the CAA - who have now appointed themselves as the UK market authority.

From what I’ve been told (CAA source) from Jan 2026 to Dec 31st 2027: drones marked with an EU ‘C’ mark can be flown as equivalent to the appropriate ‘UK’ classification. From 01.01.28: that will change.

The inference was that after 01.01.28: ‘C’ marked drones will also be shunted into the A4 Legacy Drone classification.

So, if you’re about to buy a drone that you want to use as a recreational user in A1 sub cat for more than 18 months: make sure it’s new stock that has the official ‘UK’ class mark.

Which, at this moment in time is, is only the Avata 360, I believe, which may be a bit niche for many people.

So the better question to ask DJI might be, “What new drones do you have coming to the UK market before 2028?” I can’t imagine they don’t have plans to resell something to all the current A1 flyers that will suddenly get relegated to A4. It’s almost like they’re in league with the CAA. :open_mouth:

I can see the first drone being released in the Uk with a uk label could well be the DJI Lito series which should be released sometime this year.

@Skyla don’t forget the DJI Avata 360 already ships with a UK1 class mark on it
