Had an interesting encounter with Scottish canal staff last year 
1st guy, brand new but said need to ask permission for certain parts (he owned a drone), new to flying drones thought fair enough. Later a 2nd guy 
“your not aloud to fly here” was his take 
I landed, had just about finished anyway 
After learning more about where we can fly I would challenge things now when approached, not be arsey about it but hopefully educate people a little 
rant over
