Iflight Titan xl5

Hey all!

I have just recently brought an Iflight Titan XL5 5inch Analog Quad as the Nazgul V2 I wanted has been out of stock for so long.

I took it for a flight the other day with a 4s battery (1800mah 120c) and NO GoPro.

It flew nice but seems to feel like a bit of a tank to fly…

I wanted to fly freestyle and zip around and do some cool gaps and Brando’s but It just feels heavy and not really for this kind of freestyle flying.

I was thinking of buying another 5inch frame to put all the parts in from this one a 'transfer" if you will.

Any advice if this would be possible and make a good difference from flying this tank?

Any suggestions on frames would be great too!

Something I can rip around and explore Brando’s and do some tricks ect is what I’m looking for.

Many thanks!

Chris

Hi Chris out of curiosity what motors have you got on that quad? It might be that you have a 6s version running on 4s which would make it feel very under powered

I have a 6S Nazgul V2 (1800 KV motors, I think) that I run on 4S, mainly because it was my first venture into 5". I know what you mean about it feeling like a bit of a tank but it should still be able to do all the flippy-floppy stuff.

Once you’ve checked your motors, as Steve has suggested above, you might be able to spice it up by tweaking your rates.

Hi SirGunner,

Thanks for the response, they are 2450kv :+1:

In that case its definitely the 4s version :+1:t2:

Oh I see, was thinking about upping the throttle power/response :slightly_smiling_face: I will look into it!

Thanks :+1:

Have you checked your stick end points in the receiver tab in Betaflight? Could be youre not getting full stick resolution

Will take a good look at them and will let you know :+1:

Thanks again :white_check_mark:

I run my 4S 5 inch on 1450mah batteries, 1800 sounds a lot, and might add a fair bit to the to the weight. Same 2450kv motors, think 2306 (could be 2207). Let me check and weight my battery too

Quad is 434 dry, and 1450mah battery 185, making it 620g. Motors 2306, 2450kv.

Ive just found in the manual for the TitanXL5 that they come pre configured at 70% throttle limit. Need to up it to 100% in Betaflight

Ohhhh sweet! I felt the throttle was lacking! As the weight with my 4s battery in all is like just shy of 700g! That’s even with my 16g Runcam thumb pro on it  Will look at the throttle in a moment :grinning:

Thanks!

Okay so throttle limit was at 70% like you said, and now its at 100% (yay) will fly it in the coming days and see!

Is 100% kinda the norm?

Thanks!

Chris

Just checked my iFlight BNF drones

DC5 - 100%
Chimera 7 - 100%
DC2 - 80% ( now 100 )
Evoque - 100%

Nice! I look forward to flying it :love_you_gesture:

Thanks for that information :+1:

Chris

Oooh maybe I’ll look at getting larger batteries then… hmmm.

Whats the RC Pro like?

Oh, and yeah the 70% limit will be the issue, lol!
