Anyone heard of this or know more?
Sounds like a lot of marketing bluster.
“The Ifodrone features two turbines that rotate in opposite directions. An innovation in our technology is the use of turbine blades set at a specific angle—this solution has not been encountered anywhere else to date. The angled blade setup has proven to be a significant achievement in turbine efficiency. Tests have shown that this configuration increases the overall system’s efficiency by about 30% compared to tests with horizontal blades.”
I’m no aeronautical engineer, but wouldn’t horizontal blades be dreadfully inefficient anyway? Which makes it hard to believe that this solution is completely unique.
I don’t think it’ll be obsoleting anything we fly any time soon. Might be a reasonable delivery vehicle though, which seems to be where it’s aimed.
I’m with @Earwig
The only revolution I see is the number of UFO sightings to the authorities!
No substance to the site, no contact details, no critical information.
Had a gander through Kickstarter to see if anything had popped it’s head above the parapet, nothing there and to be honest doesn’t seem to be a lot of innovation there either
Technical Specifications:
- The estimated range of the prototype drone is a radius of 100 kilometers.
- The diameter of the drone is 1 meter.
- The weight of the prototype drone with a diameter of 1 meter is 12 kilograms, capable of carrying a payload of 12 kilograms.
They need to remove the bars and see if its steerable.
It might be better fitting steel blades and entering it in battlebots. A giant flying fan that can land on stuff and chop it up.
I sincerely hope that this turns out to be a a wonderful and special drone ! However, they need to employ someone with aeronautical knowledge to write their advertising claims !
ALL TURBINES have blades set at a specific angle ! Any turbine with horizontal blades (flat to the plane of rotation) will produce zero thrust !
With a take off mass of 12 kgs it’s not really going to be a consumer drone and there will be loads of restrictions on its use.
