I’m using shotcut to edit my drone video’s. I know it’s not the best out there but I’ve got used to it now. After getting the goggles 2, I downloaded a test flight with them and they record in MOV. Shotcut won’t open the file. Does davinci resolve open MOV as I’m going to give that a try.
The trouble with video files is they are just containers. A .mov and a .avi may hold video encoded with the same codec (e.g. h.264).
As far as I know, superficially, Shotcut and Resolve should both be able to open a .mov file, but it may depend on what’s inside.
From my limited knowledge, h.265 tends to be the most problematic.
Hopefully, others may chime in.
Hopefully.
One thing I have done is switch the goggles to H264 and then I will try again.
Why do you want to use the goggles footage? It’s only 1080p and OSD is overlayed
That’s worked. Switching to H264 has solved it. Thanks very much for your help.
Wanted to make a video showing the goggles info and video footage.
Give handbrake a try
Should open anything and convert to anything
I had tried that earlier with no luck. I think it’s been down to the H265 / H264 difference but thanks for the info.
No worries my old MacBook Pro won’t touch 265 files
