Hello!
I am a new drone user so I need your advice. My hobby is cooking so I thought about filming my cooking process with free hands using an indoor drone. I have only a DJI Mini 2 which is a present from my sister so I am not experienced in choosing drones. Mini 2 is small but I want to try something even smaller. Saw goods reviews at this Potensic model but want to know what you guys think.
Any advice appreciated, thank you!
The Potensic A20 you have linked to doesn’t have a camera.
Even if it did, it definitely falls into the “toy” category, and I wouldn’t expect useable video quality from one of those.
For the task in hand, I suspect you’d be better off investing in a decent tripod (not a flying one) and using your phone.
This.
Thank you, you just saved me from money wasting!
If your intention is to produce videos to post online (YouTube, Vimeo, etc), you can get static cameras with AI tracking. As an example Powervision produce the S1, a mount for a mobile phone that will auto track a moving subject.
I don’t have one but I believe the tech was derived from Powervision’s PowerEgg X, a drone that can be used as a handheld camera with AI tracking, which I do have and it’s quite effective.
Of course. I forgot I have one similar, although I’ve not used the tracking beyond the day one, unboxing, “okay, that works,” test. ![]()

I have never thought about it, looks like a great idea!
I want to share cooking films firstly only for me and my family, if this go well, maybe I’d do it for Youtube
I’ve got a DJI osmo (3 I think). Cracking bit of kit. The tech is great for the cost. I think they have a new model out now.
Cool sister, all I got from my 5 siblings is hassle! ![]()
If your Sister buys you a mini 2 drone then look after her…She is a Gem.
Maybe a Ryze Tello will be of use to you.
Thinking of buying 1 for mainly indoor use and just fun without the cost.
If any body reading this Post has any info or advice about the Ryze then I would really be thank full before I spend my money. ![]()
Is this Camera only for sale in the US ?
And you can also share here,

@Robwak i have one, great camera.
I love my little Tellos/Telli(?). Two APPs are are essential, those are TelloFPV and TelloMe. They are paid for APPs but worth it. Also check DroneBlocks which is free. PM me if you want more info rather than taking the thread off topic.
The downdraught from the rotors could cause problems blowing smoke and steam around, and flour if you’re baking.
Thanks Nidge,
Didn’t know about the extra apps for the Tello, will have to look at them
Yes she is ![]()
I agree. Try a Gimbal either from DjI or Zhiyun. I have a Zhiyun crane 2 and it has folow focus where once you set it up with the app, The Camera on the gimbal will follow you. The Cameras that Zhiyun support are Canon, Panasonic and Sony. The newer models may offer more camera support.
Zhiyun ( iam sure DJI as well) has a lot of youtube videos for you to research before making the decision.
Speaking for myself, I wouldn’t use a drone flying near a cooking session. That’s me. Hope you find the right solution. Out of interest I so a bit of cooking on and off to help my wife. It’s mainly curry though so what’s your line of cooking?
Hi Nidge… Ordered a Tello, coming Wednesday.I got the pack with charger for 3 Batt’s and 3 Batt’s included plus the normal extras. Got it for £109 as I had a £30 off voucher. I think that I did well.
Downloaded the trial TelloFPV trial and its really good, will buy it when my Tello arrives.
Also downloaded the Drone Blocks App,will have a go at that.
Thanks for your much needed help and advise.
Take Care ![]()
