Thats only the commanders in chief Raider. The challcom committee has nothing to do woth those ones. Almost wish I did as I keep throwing my pennies away every couple of weeks
Now then Suzanne, first of all congratulations , another accolade, promoted to such a high position within GADC. The nitty gritty, no setting up challenges that are far too difficult for the average flier. None that include trips to far off locations ( The Isle of Skye or the Orkneys are too far away ) Nothing too technical either.
Nah seriously though, Iām sure weāre up for many challenges, but please donāt ask me to produce a video worthy of Alan Titchmarshās inclusion on his Sunday morning show
I feel your pain mate, at least i get to see my name go past
Thanks John, donāt worry, the competitions are for fun, and the choice of 3 subjects for you to all vote on for the following month will come from the randomizer, there will not be any need to visit any specific locationsā¦
As to quality, there are no limits, the videoās are going to be voted on by the members of the forum, so it is what takes their facy - which means something not particularly technical but that has the right feel or the right subject may well beat the more technically perfect videoās - which to my mind is as it should be!
Give it a go, post your favourite of your own videos nd see how it does⦠You never know who will win but you have to be in it to win it!
It makes me laugh the term technically perfect (no reflection on anyone apart from so called experts ).
As videography is an art form like all others what is pleasing to the eye is a matter of personal taste. So frame rates and composition donāt have to be exact.
You can film the same scene following all the rules, and again breaking all the rules, and the second may produce the more aesthetically pleasing to the majority.
Yes, yes and yes! Totally agree Steve, and as I have been at pains to point out in the Workflow thread, it is all subjectivem we each see things diferently, and what matters is not some applied formula, but instead that what we produce works for us - whether that is technically correct, is a faithful reproduction of the reality we saw or something else. Each of us has our own views and aesthetic, and what to me may be overprocessed and gaudy to another is pleasing to the eyeā¦
Thats what I was trying to get over in the comment above, dont fret that yu may not feel something is worthy of appearing on TV, instead go by the maxim, do I like it, does it bring me joy and if so then share it with us all
Thatās awesome @AlbionDrones Suzanne, congratulations
xx
Thank you Sarah (Mrs Foley)
Itās a shame that whoever assessed my A Level art exam piece way back in 1974 didnāt share my liking of the painting
