Hi all
After a scenario with apple and the iCloud not syncing all my data I was left with no alternative to re instal the latest fly app 1.7.4 which I have been so avoiding as everything has been fine , not only have I lost all my apps but some real personal notes and the last messages from my late father , I followed everything Apple advised me to do in keeping all my stuff but it has not all gone back to my phone and it was all backed up , so I’ll be getting on the phone to them in the morning ( not happy to say the least )
Anyway in regards to this question / topic I have noticed a new icon in the top right side of the screen which I shall attach photo , does anyone kindly know what it is , when you touch it , it takes you into the screen as if you’ve pressed the three dots , not sure why Dji would put that there or if it’s a shortcut as it’s so close to the three dots if that makes sense which takes you to too the settings screen so don’t see the point of it , looked on YouTube can’t find a video with or about it also googled it as well nothing there either , also it looks like they’ve taken two caches away as well, amongst other reminders of crappy firmware updates that are now a stack of three to be done together rather than on there own or single , MA2 one update is for the drone the other jap rid and the other for the controller , the lay out for the updates are very different ( which I won’t be doing ) sorry to have to ask but would like to know what the icon means if possible, thanks in advance
Hi
Just want to say after being on the phone to Apple for the last two hours and counting , they have got me everything back [ even fly 1.6.9 ] iOS ……
over the moon problem solved
Just want too add and not sure if it’s been mentioned before , if you back up your iOS regular or after your fly app updates ( sorry to mention it again ) if you do come across an app that is or not as good to your one previous , I think maybe what I’ve just learned also is :
Since I have had my new phone which was march this year I have only backed it up 3 times in total and when doing a iCloud backup restore , which also gives you the option to just restore your apps and chose which day or month etc you can back up from ( a choice so to speak ) I had the option to select the march 2022 back up which back then the fly app I had was 1.5.10 , obviously a bit of faffing around but handy to know , how many different dates of back ups it will allow or store I don’t know but when I was speaking to the apple tech as I was considering the march back up as she asked me which back up would I like too do , she said what ever you backed up back then is what you will get on the restore and some things might need updating but not force update , just thought I’d mention it sorry if it’s already known or been mentioned but kinda handy if you have a separate device for your drone with not tons of stuff on it then an easy restore , if you know what I mean , early hours this morning 1.7.4 as it says then erase & restore from a different date and I get 1.6.9 back so I guess it kinda makes sense and is possible , I’ve got a spare I phone here I’ll back that one up from march and see what happens
Sorry to mention it again just thought might be handy ! Some say get an android it’s easier
I’m glad everything is sorted out for you Kirky - hopefully you are backing up your phone daily now? As for the ‘radar’ icon I’ll take a look later and let you know what it does (if anything)
Hi mate thanks for your reply , what was said as a radar icon , on further inspection I realised that it only came on when you enabled subject scanning within the fly app , I’ve never noticed it before hence why I posted the topic , not sure if I’ve ever even used subject scanning tbh but I’m pretty sure that’s what it is , many thanks
