I have a DJI Air 2s and a DJI RC2 controller. I am considering purchasing a new DJI Mini 4 Pro and would like a RC2 to control it. Is it possible to use my existing RC controller with both aircraft? What is the process to change between the two aircraft? If it is too much trouble I will have to buy a new controller but he RC2 is an expensive purchase and may be unnecessary. If there is a relatively simple way of using it for both drones, I’d like to know about it. Thanks in advance.
Ignore my previous comment, here is a link to what will work with what
at this time, not it is not possible as @DazC Darren pointed out.
the air2s uses the DJI RC not the RC2 DJI Air 2S - All In One - DJI
I cannot see DJI making the RC forward compatible (or rather the m4p backward compatible with the rc… no financial benefit to them)
they have done this with the goggles 2 and joystick… as those are o3+ but not o4, so the air3 and m4p can both use the goggles 2 (and integra)… but you are at the mercy of DJI
As above, if you have the Air 2S then you have the RC.
The Air 3 shipped with the RC2.
I’m pretty sure you can’t buy just the controller or Mini 4 pro. Only as a combo.
For what’s its worth, I have the mini 4 pro. It’s a spectacular piece of kit especially with the latest upgrade.
Good luck.
The RC2 is available to buy separately.
Although you can use the Air 2S with a more expensive RC Pro
Hi. Pretty sure you can’t just buy the Mini 4 pro on its own. Great way to make more money! Your not likely to crash the controller!!
The 3 wasn’t sold separately on its own at launch but came later
So maybe watch that space
Update:
My understanding is that the Mini 3Pro it is compatible with both my DJi RC and my existing Air 2S. What process would I encounter if i wanted to use the RC2 for both aircraft (obviously not at the same time). Would both aircraft automatically recognise the RC when they were switched on. or would it be a case of configuring it every time I want to swap between the aircraft? I hope I Make sense here.
I use the DJI RC with both the Mini 3 Pro and the Air 2s, once the RC has been bound with both drones it’s just a case of selecting the one you intend to fly with and away you go (it will remember the last one you flew with the RC so you do not have to do this if you fly with the same drone again).
As stated above - the RC2 is not compatible with the Mini 3 Pro or the Air 2S. However, the RC is compatible with both the Mini 3 Pro or the Air 2S.
Onanist has detailed the RC requirements
Sorry, I meant the RC not the RC2
The compatibility list is on the DJI page for the RC:
