I've Lost My Drone somewhere up there

Rather you than me.

20m+ of pole from the ground would be damned heavy.

10m+ of pole out near horizontal would be even more difficult to hold on the ground, let alone from the top of a ladder.

Someone would at least cut the tree down for you, so that they could take the diesel soaked bit home to squeeze the diesel out. #result

There’s a 22 minutes slow down on the M4 so I have to go via malmesbury

Seen some good rescues on YouTube by attaching a tennis ball or 500ml coke bottle to a really long bit of rope/string and lobbing it up over the drone. I carry a massive bit of paracord in my bag now, although not had to use it yet.

I have 30 m of rope 10 m of pole a grappling hook a wire cable chaser which is 15 m long and loads of other ideas also got my wife’s bread dough hook. I’ve also got 8 m of roof straps and a bow saw, plus both my drones. And a shed load of gaffer tape

There are some great ideas in there… a video of what @OzoneVibe said… 60ft of thin-ish rope tied to a small water bottle… thrown up around a branch… shakedy shake shake… and down she pops (need a mate standing with open towel etc…). That spud gun (9:57mins) looks like it might appear on my workbench this summer
