I've Lost My Drone somewhere up there

Ordered… thanks

You should get it by 18 May.

It was embarrassing … especially because Tim and his mate were watching

I needed to turn off obstacle avoidance too, but forgot where it’s located on the Go4 app (I now know). So flew in Sports mode, as that turns it off automatically. Made the rescue that much more bum-clenching

Here’s a vid that shows how to remove the top part of the shell, it’s only 4 screws. Then you can replace the battery door.

I would defo recommend the last method that we used to anyone else who finds themselves in this predicament; i.e. 2nd drone dropping the hook & line from above the lost drone. Worked a treat when all else failed :+1:

I thought about this, but what happens if that dangling hook gets stuck and you end up with a second drone tethered to the same tree… Albeit hovering and not hanging helpless off a branch? Could you rig a release mechanismsl? Or use a line that might snap under full vertical throttle maybe?

Where can I buy that Superman drone in the picture ? Oh, hang on, I think I just found it . .

Eh? The hook is attached to a line that a person pulls on the ground. It isn’t attached to any drone.

Yes, if we had one, but we don’t :man_shrugging:

Then how would you pull the hooked branch if the line snaps at the faintest pressure?

While this is quite cool, and half the point of a project like this is the fun of actually doing it, if your ultimate aim was the video footage, I can’t help thinking you’d get better results by just superimposing your superhero in post.

How did you do this bit… Sorry if I’m being dense?

How did you do the drop? :+1:t3:

Reversed the rescue drone (M2P) backwards, and the hook slid off the front of the conduit (white plastic pipe) and onto the tree.
