Jervaulx Abbey - Added to Historic Buildings in Richmondshire, Yorkshire and the Humber

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Jervaulx Abbey in East Witton in North Yorkshire, 14 mi (23 km) north-west of the city of Ripon, was one of the great Cistercian abbeys of Yorkshire, England, dedicated to St Mary in 1156. It is a Grade I listed building.
It has been owned by the Burdon family since 1971.
Car parking is over the road and is by honesty box £1
Access to the abbey is 24 hours and is by honesty box £5
There are tearooms adjacent to the car parking.
I gained permission to fly through the owner's daughter, Anna Burdon. ( jervaulx.abbey@hotmail.co.uk ). It was suggested that I flew before 10.00 a.m or after 4.00 p.m.
I've visited a number of times over the years and have never found it to be very busy.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 01/04/2024. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.

I flew there a few years ago. I was also given permission to fly as there were no other visitors at the site. I also flew at Rievaulx Abbey but they were not so accommodating.
