Just dunked my Mavic Mini in the sea

First time flying for months and my Mavic decided to land in the sea. Looks like that’s the end of my flying. :cry::cry:

Sorry to hear… Have you had experience with sea flying, or did it head out to sea from land?

First time flying over the sea but I have flown over water before. It just decided it was time to land. Not sure what the logs say, I’ll have to wait until I get back home.

Recovered the drone but I’m not hopeful it will fly again.

As an avid sea flyer who does fly ’ out out ’ to sea, it’s a totally different beast to flying over inland waterways and lakes etc. You have to factor in a dynamic risk assessment which will include wind speed, direction, if at a height then the gust speed which is always going to be higher than that at say 100 feet.

Hopefully the drone is recoverable but salt water sadly can be a killer.

I did think it might be a different beast. I had not long taken off and was over the water and it just decided to land. Wasn’t a crash definitely a controlled decent.

I can already see the corrosion on the PCB in the battery slot so I think it’s dead.

I’m on holiday for a week so don’t have the tools to strip it down. I’m hoping I might be able to clean it up when I get home as long as the damage is not too much.

That’s not much …just 26℃ … not much warmer than a warm day.

You were not very high and the bottom sensors would have been confused by the water

But you didn’t push the left stick up and you let it in land in the water

Yeah I saw that. I thought I did but obviously not. Think I just panaked when it started coming down.

I did yeah. Corrupt on the flash card but I have the one on the phone. Give me a couple of mins and I’ll upload it to YouTube.
