On my way back after picking up my new 3d Printer from DazC, i went to the kelpies and took some video and photos, While their i noticed a drone so landed mine, hence why it is a little short
cracking vid.
thanks, when i landed my drone i spoke to the other drone op, and told him about greyarrows, then while we where talking another drone was wizzing about, drone fest!!!
Will definitely need to get over and fly here,
Loved the other vids and pics you have just posted over Grangemouth, howd you get on flying there as seen the end of vid with the HI-Viz brigade all standing about …looks a nice place to get a flight in before it probably turns into NFZ again
Totally amazing looking place.
To be honest grangemouth is nice to fly, espically at night, due to the light, aslong as you do not fly over the towers and the main part, very safe. I am surprised their is no FRZ their. I know for forth ports website tells drone user they must ask permisson etc, but as you know and everyone else that is rubbish for grangemouth. I never fly my drone with out my dog, just in case, i did take still photos years ago at grangemouth and police came to my door, and i was with another person and they threatned me to arrest me under terriorism act since i did not give that persons name, i never gave the name. If you do go, the minute you see someone start recording and if you can go with a friend, keep calm polite which i know everyone on this site would be. Because if you do have to use your video evidence it is good to show you did not provoke anything, and all you are doing is a legal activity, and what they are doing in my video i would possibly consider breach of the peace in scotland, state of fear. Stay safe people, sorry for long post
thanks
it is amazing, the kelpies do lite up at night. Thier is a parking fee unless you have a blue badge, also during summer car park closes at 9:45 i think please check, Best to go during day so you are aware of the pylons near by. Thier is also falkirk wheel and grangemouth also forth rail bridge which is good to fly at night, check frz due to edinburgh airport, also rosyth naval base
Perfect …thanks for the info
Yeh i stay near the forth bridges and plan on going so far out (keeping VLOS) from Queens Ferry at sunset etc while train crossing (the usual shot
) but what puts me off a bit and i have discussed on here before is the blanket SSSI that is over the Forth coastline.
Kelpies also on the list as havent been for a few years and surprised to see drone pics and vids there only to find out they encourage drone use now
Love it, Making me want to travel more with my drone ![]()
