Kinclaven Woods, Perthshire

I headed up to Perthshire last week to get some shots of bluebells in Kinclaven woods with my Nikon Z6. The woods are famed for their displays of bluebells, but due to the recent cold weather I was about 2 weeks too early. The patches of bluebells were spread out, some far from the paths and with signs everywhere saying don’t venture off the path or walk on the bluebells, I ditched my Nikon & tripod and called the Mini 2 in to action. It was perfect for just hovering over the patches of bluebells I couldn’t get near. I did get some funny looks from walkers and more than a few questions but they were interested enough to hang around and watch, though I could have done without the ‘watch out for that branch comment’ :joy:

Mini 2 - 1/160sec @ f2.8, 100iso.

This one was shot on my Z6 handheld, the only patch of bluebells near a path.
Nikon Z6 - 1/50sec @ f10, 400iso - 3 image pano.

and one of ‘The Witness Trees’ (Outlander).
Nikon Z6 - 1/200sec @ f5.6, 400iso - 4 image upright pano.

Stopped off on the way down the road for a photo of the Meikleour Beech Hedge by the A93. Recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the highest hedge in the world, the hedge was planted in 1745 and is one third of a mile long and 100 ft high. It is thought the men who planted it were called to fight in the Jacobite Rebellion and none of them returned alive. In tribute the trees were allowed to grow and the hedge acts as a living landmark to them.

Mini 2 - 1/640sec @ f2.8, 100iso.

Kinclaven Woods - Mavic 2 Pro - 1/100sec @ f5.6, 100iso.
