I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:
Located in Skerton, Lancaster, is a large weir on the River Lune.
There are trees covering about half of the rowing club but the half next to the river is clear above. Plenty of over-water flying to be had here and an Industrial estate on the other side of the river.
Marker added to the location where there’s a small car park for a few cars but there’s plenty of on-street parking.
From the parking marker, walk towards the rowing club and there’s a path down to the right to access it.
If you walk beyond the rowing club across the grass, there’s a path that goes further along the river.
The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 25/09/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.
