I use one with the Mini’s if the surface take-off area is dusty. Had an issue with dust getting into the motors from a concrete floor once. Had to send the drone off for repair. It’s only a 600mm mat but enough to keep the drone clean.
Landing mats do have benefits - it makes it easier to remember which spot your drone took off from, plus in some cases can help with signal interference and navigation. Personally, I’ve had really great success with the Hubsan Landing Mat - it’s super affordable and provides a consistent take-off spot each time.
Qui?
I’d love to be able to catch in my hand as I’m in a wheelchair, I can and do take off from my hand but when I’m trying to catch my mini 3 pro it just flys back up, is it something I need to change in my settings? Any help would be useful. And yes I’ve fallen out of my wheelie a couple of time when trying to pick my M3P off the ground.
Just hold it really still (your hand that is)
Just remember must also keep the left stick down to engage the auto landing
@ianinlondon has this easy guide
Just to make you aware, there’s a little heart icon under posts you can tap to like them
Cheers for that, will give it a try when I get home
Will do that.
Cheers
Cheers for that vid, I see what I’ve been doing wrong now.
and on mobile, hold for a greater selection
I don’t hold stick down, I have it hovering sideways just above forward of my head height then just go in underside grab and flick over on it side in one continuous motion as it does not detect your hand coming In from the side.
Hesitating or going in slow is the cause of it raising up again
Which is a known cause for damaging the gimbal motor
I’ve heard that before but never happend in all the years I’ve been doing it.
I forgot you lot at the big meet use trees to land drones
That’s not landing that’s Parking
multi-storey drone park
You can tell em by the bandaged fingers:rofl:
I wouldn’t consider myself expert but I tend to hand launch & catch. I did buy a reasonably cheap mat but used it the 1st time I flew only.
Practice hand catching as it makes life much easier.
