Latest crop circle - another one for the Avebury area :)

Another crop circle has appeared close to the UNESCO World heritage village of Avebury, Wiltshire

This latest one is picturesquely located at the foot of Hackpen Hill with a lovely backdrop of the White Horse carved into the hillside

The Aliens have had a busy few weeks, this being the second one near Avebury in the last fortnight.

For those interested in such things, another one appeared near Ilchester in Somerset last week - unfortunately slap bang in the middle of the RNAS Yeovilton no-fly zone

Lovely shot Andrew! I was there myself at 06.00. it was blowing quite hard on the top of the hill, so I headed down to the lea side by the field. There were at least 4-5 other pilots over the time I was there. At one point I had a strange moment with the controller. I wonder if there were signal issues with other controllers.

Thank you! It was blowing pretty hard when i was there a few hours after you but i was able to park in a small one-car length entrance to a field parallel to the crop circle (just out of shot) and TOAL from there so not to bad.

After i had got what i needed, i went up to the car park at the top to get some shots with my “normal” camera and the wind was certainly stronger up there.

There weren’t any other drone pilots around while i was there, but there were a couple of car loads of numpties that walked out to the crop circle straight through the barley much to my horror - there’s never an angry farmer around when you need one

Just been up there again - either the Aliens wanted to enhance their initial design by coming back to scribble-out-by-tractor the core of the circle, or the farmer has (understandably) taken umbrage at the numpties ruining his crops and mowed out the centre.

Either way, disappointing

Yesterday, I read a feed on the BBC about crop circle popularity now and how farmers, whilst largely pretty fed up with the illegal activity that leads to crop loss, but also how they are liable for health and safety, if they let people come and muck about in their crop (As you witnessed the other day). I sense an unease, whilst the popularity of this phenomenon brings tourists and income for local businesses, into the area, the legal eagles are circling as drone pilots go circle hunting…
