Latest information regarding flying drones in Spain

Hi everyone and seasons greetings

I contacted the spanish authorities in Nov 2024 regarding flying my mini 4 pro in northern Spain as I noticed in the Enaire app any flights close to people needed permission from the ministry of interior at least 5 days before the flight

The team provided the following information

Evening all, just after some advice regarding flying in mainland Spain. Can anyone advise on what I need to do to ensure im flying legally. I hold a A2 CofC qualification but I have never flown in a foreign country.
Thanks in advance

I’ve never flown in Spain but there are quite a few topics posts / thread’s on the forum worth a read,

Unfortunately

A2 CofC is not recognised in the EU

Sorry I could be of no more help hopefully someone will come along who may have flown there recent & can shed more light on the subject :+1:

This maybe worth a read Here

I found this is the most recent I could find,

Very useful info. Thanks @Gallego1

It really looks more bother than it’s worth taking a drone to Portugal or Spain.

Maybe if it’s work or a project …but just for a casual holiday …what a pain in the rectum

@Gallego1 Thanks for the info

Can I confirm your understanding for Spain please ?

If you have an EASA Operator Registration anywhere in the EU (for me I did it in Cyprus)
And a A1/A3 Cerificate (I did it in Luxembourg)
And 3rd Party Insurance
You can fly Open Category

IF you are not flying in a restricted zone which you can find using the ENAIRE App or https://drones.enaire.es/. (only the grey areas)

The shaded areas will have details of who to contact and height limits etc.
There are some areas shown as UAS flying areas (drone symbols)

Explanation on here you can and can’t fly in Spain and the assorted rules and regs
