Leicester Drones Closing Down Sale?

Hi there, I’ve just been on Leicester Drones site and whilst browsing through the drones section, it came up as closing down sale! Anyone know anything about it please?

Only that I was able to buy the RC2 Pro for over £100 discount.

I did email some questions about support in advance, and they confirmed that DJI would be offering the support on that anyway in the event of a problem.

I did say in a response I was sorry to hear that they were closing down, and to keep me informed if they were perhaps to re-enter the market again, but they didn’t reply or acknowledge that comment.

How does a customer stand with regards to warranty?

Well, it’s DJI that provide the warranty (also with Care Refresh), so it doesn’t matter if the company is trading or not.

Not under UK consumer laws (technically speaking) it’s the retailer

However knowing how good DJI there would be issues going to them, in fact most people goto them direct for warranty claims.

Yes, that was my thinking also. They do seem to be very good.

Also, I somehow felt safer buying the RC2 Pro rather than a drone, as (hopefully) I am less likely to get issues (read: crash) it

Fucking cut throat lemme tell ya

We are all guilty of it, be it 20% playing the Very game (huge savings) or the Aliexpress lottery (even bigger % savings)

At the end of the day the quids is quids.

I feel for Chris at LD I really do.

Hi Martin, didn’t see your reply sorry. Thanks for the order. I have loved my 11 years of Leicester Drones. I ran a drone club for 6 years and flew with over 500 other dronies. I also got to be on the radio and television a few times and had articles published in magazines and national press. I have had some great customers over the years and met some amazing people. It was a pleasure meeting you last year when you showed me your ‘quote calculator algorithm’ - you are the first person I have seen make one of those and it answered the question most commercial drone operators ask ie. how much shall I charge? There is no question that I will miss the drone business, it has been a blast and I am proud to have made a company with a 5 star rating on Trustpilot - no other drone company has this. I always put my customers first and if they had a problem I would help them. It was also great fun selling drones to the military and special forces, great guys to get orders from, and supplying some of the biggest companies in the UK. Grey Arrows is a wonderful forum, the best drone forum I have ever seen, very well managed by Richard and his committee - so many other other online drone groups can be really unpleasant to each other, arguing about rules and quoting different legislation rather than helping people. Anyway, best of luck to you all and to the Grey Arrows, I will be around for a few weeks yet, and if anyone wants a bargin on the Avata 360 Combo I still have few left. Regards, Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the response. I also remember our chat at the meet up last year, and was glad to order my Mini 5 Pro from you soon after. I was considering the Avata 360, but only with the goggles, which I think you have sold out of. I wish you the very best in whatever you are doing next, and hope that we’ll still see you on the forums and perhaps at meet ups as well.

Thank you very much.

I hope whatever it is that you take up next, gives you as much pleasure as your drone business has. Good luck Chris!
