great shot - hope you were able to get closer as you could get a great panoramic from this side of the Cathedral and then if you were over by Stowe Pool would be wicked too.
Hi, Not tried the panorama yet, I did get closer though. Just a quick test as upgraded from mini2. Might try somenight shots over there, shame the scaffolding is on the tower though. Thanks Gary fellow ham
Best place to take a picture of the Cathedral is from the Memorial garden next to the bridge. You can take an orbital video and maintain VLOS (as I always do of course).
I took some footage from there and Beacon Park across the road last month but waiting for them to complete the centre steeple repairs before I finish it off. Link here:
Are was thinking there, the steeple isnt the nicest for a photo at the moment like you say. Ill cheeck that thread out thanks.
Hey, get the scaffolding shots. I don’t know if anyone follows Sean Tucker on YouTube (probably not he’s known for street photography and film more) I met him recently and he pointed out that all these blemishes on the landscape and buildings you should take advantage of. Embrace the temporary.
Normally I’d be put off taking photos of buildings with scaffolding around them or places that look like building sites, but as he pointed out, it might be like that for 3 months, and you’ve got the shot, while everyone else has the boring generic ‘photo club’ shot that could be taken any other time over the past decade or two.
That’s one way of looking at it… I was pretty peeved it was up, but there won’t be many knocking about with it full of scaffolding
@firstadekit You know me Ade, I’ve taken a video shaking hands with the workers at 80m up. Just waiting to get the ‘after’ shots before I edit.
