Lilleshall Hall & National Sports Centre - Added to Historic Buildings in Bridgnorth, West Midlands

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

The grounds of Lilleshall National Sports Centre are open to the public virtually all year round, so access is easy.

Lilleshall House, also known as Lilleshall Hall, is a magnificent 19th-century stately home nestled in the Shropshire countryside, approximately 20 miles north-west of Stafford. The Hall is set amidst 200 acres of English Heritage Grade II listed grounds, featuring beautifully manicured gardens, ornamental ponds, and historical structures such as a Grecian temple and a 70-foot high obelisk built in 1833 in memory of the 1st Duke of Sutherland.
Constructed in 1829 for the Duke of Sutherland, the house was originally commissioned as a hunting lodge in an elegant Neo-Gothic architectural style that was characterized by its intricate stonework, tall chimneys, and expansive windows.

Lilleshall Hall is operated by Serco Leisure Operating Ltd on behalf of Sport England, as one of three National Sports Centres.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 16/01/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

Just a note to maybe alter the title as Lilleshall Hall isnt really near Bridgnorth, as it lies between Telford & Newport.
Bridgnorth is around 16 miles away by road

Bridgnorth is allocated by the DS system to the entry based on the council area in which it falls. These councils areas can sometimes be shapes that result in a title that looks incorrect.

Weird as I live close to it and we both come under Telford & Wrekin Council, but if computer says ‘NO’ then I guess thats that
-EDIT- Ive looked a little deeper & apparantly it used to come under Bridgnorth before government boundary changes in 2009 - since then its been Telford & Wrekin

I have to agree, but as Dave, pointed out, we don’t assign the area it’s in. I used to work a few miles down the road so know where your coming from (pun intended)! :hugs::roll_eyes:

I enjoyed your work filming/presenting the national sports centre at Lilleshall. I can imagine the effort/time put into your presentation.

Thanks.

The long drive up to the hall is one of my favourite places to film car video sequences as its so quiet with maybe only seeing 1 car every 5 minutes

Ah, thanks Barrie. I guess it takes about 4 days to do a 5 min video, depending on its history and my Davinci Resolve is playing ball!

My video in this instance would take 10 mins to do. Me calling Greenflag!:rofl: Lame, I know, especially when I was a fully trained mechanic/engineer in my younger days!:rofl::rofl:
