Lindisfarne Castle, Holy Island, Northumberland - Added to Castles and Fortifications in North East

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Nation Trust property on Holy Island took of from its foreshore no overflight and no issues.

The whole of the East Coast here has a NOTAMS with a floor of 20,000 feet still checked with MOD no issue think they were surprised.

The originator declared that this location was inside a flight restriction zone at the time of being flown. Permission to fly was obtained from Ministry of Defence. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.

I flew there a couple of years ago and took off from the lane which you can see coming in from the left in the first photo (NOT the one running along the base of the castle in the second picture!). It’s a couple of hundred metres from the castle and it’s classed as a public footpath, and it’s not NT land. Further on it runs past the north side of the Gertrude Jeckyll garden. There’s a sharp double bend with a field gateway which allows plenty of space for TOAL. Nice road surface rather than the rocks and stones on the shore!
