LIPO battery short circuit

Hi, could someone be able to give me some advice on what to do with my LIPO. I just broke my balance plug during a flight and only realised once I unplugged the battery after flight. I brought it in to the bench to have a look at it then two of the cell wires must have made contact and it was sparking. I just yanked them out the connector to stop them touching and rushed outside with the battery just to be safe. I now have all the pins out the balance plug and covered in electrical tape.
I was going to fit a new plug and see if anything dramatic had happened to the cell voltage which might indicate more permanent damage but when I got to the third wire I found it had been melted off inside the rubber insulation.
There is still a short length of wire sticking out but there is a layer of white powder over it (probably just burnt stuff) so I could still fit a new balance plug.
Do you think it is still ok to use or best to find somewhere safe to put it until it can be disposed of?

Thanks in advance.

If you value your home, stick it in a bucket of salt water

Or if you want to have some fun, stick a nail through it or put it on a fire

Right up until this bit I’d have said to try and fix it… but this takes it too far… I’m with Sparky get it in a bucket of water stat.

Unmannedtech have them in. I just got 2.

Nice, do they live up to expectations?

I’ve not tried them yet!
