I wonder if DJI use his videos to train their repair team? ![]()
There is a crazy amount of technology on that main board ![]()

Top job on the teardown @Mads-Tech ![]()
Now for the “rebuild and fly” vid. ![]()
I’ve done tear downs and removed the gimble being that on the mini 3 pro but similar similarities but obviously advanced technology, I got to the same point on the motors and mentioned before here I just cannot see how it’s done and I would be splicing as you have to be a expert at soldering in the smallest angled space.
Hopefully we will find out why the speaker is so big and if weight does become a issue to users then the answer simply remove it. ![]()
Love the excitement @Mads-Tech gets every time seeing boards.
My first board I removed I made the mistake of heating inside the battery compartment to losing the board only to warp the thin plastic bars the board sits on preventing the battery slotting in smoothly ![]()
Perhaps it not a speaker!!!
It could be a microphone, which the Chinese are using to listen to every word we speak:flushed_face:![]()
It’s a great teardown, I too am puzzled by the speaker. If DJI take the time and attention to put plastic fins on the heatsink, use thermal paste instead of a cover to save weight.. Why then use a “speaker” of such size? It’s not as though it’s big enough to be easily heard over the props so it couldn’t be used for public announcements or Landing warning beeps. Only reason I can think of is that DJI brought a couple of million on the cheap so need to use them somehow.
@Mads-Tech If you are not putting that speaker back in please tear it down and lets have a look inside the rape alarm
Its back in now, overall reassembly was straight forward however the top shell by the front cameras was a nightmare, that was the bit that was hard to get off as well
But does it fly?
