And what does it weigh @Mads-Tech

Are we taking bets on the speaker going back in or not?

Any plans for a battery teardown??

Volunteering?

Punt me over a battery and sure

Tho i think Mr Mads would produce a better, read any video.

I’m curious about the feasibility of shaving a couple of grams off the casing without completely munting the thing.

It could be a minor game changer considering the current hoo ha on the subject.

That said, it boarders on can o worms territory. Floating the idea of modifying batteries to the masses.

The casing looked very thin. Plenty of scope, elsewhere, to get well below 250g ..

  • Speaker :exploding_head:
  • Thermal Paste - so much of it! :scream:
  • Plastic ducting - could easily be thinner .. it does nothing structurally.

You do have a point but i would expect dji to have gone through many many iterations during the design process. Its possibly naive to think everything is as good as they can make it but there you go.

Either way, modding the drone itself is a nono for me if for no other reason than i like my dji care to not be voided.

I do doubt stripping the entire casing would equal 2 grams but my curiosity is still peaked

It won’t be much different to the mini 3 pro

Yup,

I’ld expect it to cause the odd discomfort in the sphericals pulling them apart.

I did a bunch of cell replacements on laptops n stuff back when it was worth it. Funtimes..

I still think its worth doing a 5 teardown to get accurate weights etc

The speaker is an interesting addition. I wonder if it lends itself to the potential for new flight modes!

Its presence may suggest the integration of new flight modes, potentially for alerts or status notifications, similar to the functionality found on other DJI devices, used without an RC.

Its exact function and operation is not officially detailed by DJI, but I wonder if it could be used in conjunction with the side button to perform tasks as the Neo does?

It’s obviously for lost/crashed drones, when 99% of the drone’s functionality will power down meaning the pre-recorded ”Help! I’m over here!" will play uninterrupted for three weeks. :+1:

Or a chirp like a failing smoke alarm :face_holding_back_tears:

If they add one touch quick shots (on the magic unknown button) like the Neo then it will be to tell you what its doing.

Described here by our friend @ianinlondon

I was referring to the speaker.

It speaks to tell you what it’s doing

When discussing weights its always hard to find good reference’s to compare against however I did what I could. also make sure you watch right till the end
