The proposed (which Labour has a hard on for) is below, you can see the village on the right (it does not include the current build). The yellow is a battery back up site, the units are 40ft container size and there will be 100 of them.
You can’t charge your drone without electricity.
I’m a realist and know that, but wont be greenwashed.
This is BMV agricultural land, the panels are made in China, with the materials mined in Africa and all that comes with the ethics on that.
So is the solution to blanket the countryside with solar panels? Maybe make up for the loss of agricultural lands by importing all our food? 100 x40 foot cpntained sized battery banks sound fun - if one were to catch fire through temperature or short.
We have an energy crisis, certainly. Insistence or scrapping all current ICE cars in favour of electric is not the most sensible answer.
We need to either create environmentally friendly low impact generating solutions or reduce our dependence on such quantities of power.
Make them manadatory on all new builds, residential or commercial.
Or use the royal parks, they are big enough and out of the way
