I was feeling quite content flying yesterday until a message appeared update required. I let the RC download the update. I was then informed flying the drone I had limited distance applied as I had to sign in again to fly as normal.
I was out in open countryside and not able to get a signal. Although I had my work on the Mavic 3 pro micro card I had lost what was in the RC - had I lost my drone I would not have had anything synced to AirData eventually. I’m somewhat surprised it was DJI who initiated the download and left me I think high and dry. Has it happened to others?

No, Barrie. Upgrades have never signed me out. But I have noticed that the odd setting here and there has reset to defaults. Your issue sounds like it could have easily ended a lot worse than it did.

I happened to look at the DJI forum just now and some others feel unsettled.
I’ll not update in future if out unless I have a signal.

How did you download the update if you didn’t have a signal?
I had a signal when I uploaded the update but after that I was unable to pick up same as I don’t carry password etc to reconnect.

Are you iOS or Android? And which drone/app?
I got signed out on the last update but 1 on my air2s I noticed I was logged out and signed in again but todays update I kept signed in
