And crashing are the two things that are a constant.
If not you aren’t really flying fpv
Hi.
I have a second hand Cetus X FPV Kit (Cetus FC). A couple of years old, hardly used. This kit contains the box goggles, RC, spares. You would need some extra batteries.
If interested, let me know and I’ll check it still works OK and post the details in the ‘For Sale’ category.
Hey buddy, thanks for getting in touch.
Just to check, mini whoop(yyyy) googles and controller.
You mentioned will need more batteries, does it have any at all and ‘as a newbie’ what batteries and charger would you recommend and any ideas on a price.
Thanks for getting in touch
This is the kit here:
Includes - Cetus X cine whoop, goggles, controller, batteries, charger, spare frame, bag/ holder. This is the Cetus FC version, doesn’t run Betaflight.
I’ll be looking for £125 plus postage for the whole lot.
As mentioned, if you are interested please let know and I’ll get everything out to check it’s working properly and post in the ‘For Sale’ category.
It would be good to get opinions from others to see if this cine whoop would be OK for your needs etc.
Cheers buddy, would be great.
Just checking when you say it doesn’t run Betaflight…….thats totally lost on me.
What exactly does that mean please?
I guess the simplest analogy is that Betaflight is the “Linux” (or maybe “Android”) of FPV, while DJI is the more closed iOS/Apple option. You have to work a little harder but it is generally cheaper and in many cases more customisable.
It is an open operating system for drones, and there is a free Configurator for it that lets you tune/customise most things.
Now I am really curious! Does anyone on this thread actually use or have experience of using DJI for FPV? Not an Avata, I mean for controlling a general drone from another manufacturer.
Full disclosure: I don’t, so anything I say here is going to be a little biased. I also suspect many (most) of the posters are ELRS/Betaflight folks too.
It would be great to hear from anyone who uses/used DJI for their first hand experience.
I know it’s a pain reading an entire thread but,
And
Also, if I remember correctly, @Jord uses the DJI control system for most of his quads.
Yes, all of my equipment is DJI
I have avata 2 DJI fpv, and around seven different sized FPV frames with various generations of their unit across three pairs of goggles and a range of controllers that are either DJI or crossfire
Had read those but maybe I said it wrong - I definitely wasn’t implying nobody in the thread knew what they were talking about, there are plenty of FAR more experienced folk than me here!
Just that those posts were “yes it will work”, but nobody had really shared what it is actually like to live with and I am genuinely interested to hear how it compares.
Depends what you want and how you are flying.
I’ve only once used DJI for both controller and video.
I found that when flying open areas it was ok, bando’s where interference is common it was shit.
I also found it to be shit when at large meets.
If your flying open areas away from other you will be fine. If not then I would consider a separate receiver such as elrs or crossfire
Similar. I’d just woken up so probably misinterpreted. Didn’t mean to sound like a dick, although it often happens.
I started out with the DJI FPV controller 3, using the DJI control system to pilot my first FPV drone.
Whilst it worked fine, I would get confused with muscle memory when using it, because I automatically (mentally) linked it to the flying the Avata2 & Neo.
So I purchased a Radiomaster Pocket (ELRS) and I found that it sorted it and I felt more confident flying proper FPV
I only mentioned it because I understand that a lot of FPV flyers use Betaflight to fine tune the way the drone responds to controls etc. I don’t know much about this stuff but thought that it might be relevant if you were thinking of going down the Betaflight route in future.
Been DJI from the start, have moved on the crossfire for that extra range.. wouldn’t change my VTX as Dji is way ahead of the competition, don’t know enough about ELRS to comment other than it’s a little cheaper and not as straightforward to setup as crossfire..
That said I’m sure someone on hear will disagree, I’m a plug and play type of guy, stick time not bench time is what is important for me..
Betaflight is like an operating system / software for fpv drones.
Most flight controllers come with it pre loaded and you can log in update with new features or change the configuration when upgrading or changing parts such as gps or camera / vtx:
There are others but they tend to be focussed on a niche like wings and model planes.
If you plan to fly proper fpv then betaflight will be something you will watch a few videos on
