I have been trying to find a spot to get a decent image of Old Winchester Hill in Hampshire for while now, flying on the hill itself is a not allowed as a SSSI. This was captured from a spot normally used by Alan’s Coffee to serve excellent refreshments from a layby near the hill, except he is away for the Christmas holidays so I grabbed the opportunity. Shame about the low winter sun, although maybe it provides atmosphere!

Nice image
Not allowed by who? I was flying above an SSSI today…
See here
Natural England manage the site and have signs placed at strategic locations specifically banning Model Aircraft and Kite Flying.
I flew there from the public footpath opposite the site entrance and around the rear of the site, didn’t overfly the site itself to avoid hassle as lots of Karen’s and Ken’s around that day,

Nice sign and easy to comply with … just use an ‘unmanned aircraft’ instead of a ‘model aircraft’ to fly there

Indeed… Old Winchester Hill is a biological site of special interest. You’re flying over it, not tearing the land up with a quad bike.
