Lowepro ProTactic bags BP 350 AW III or BP 450 AW III

Hi there,

Do any of you have one of the above mentioned bags ? Trying to judge size / usability really.

Basically I want a decent size bag for a hike / long bike ride that can support having the following gear in it

Air 3s along with RC2 controller and battery charger with 3 batteries in it ( 1 in the drone to = 4)
also to carry a second drone like a DJI Avata 360 with charger / goggles / controller
Then to have some space for some bits and bobs like extra props etc and a power bank or two and possible a 13" laptop and space for some snacks etc

Would the BP 450 be overkill ?

Links to the bags -

or maybe overkill mode -

Any input would be great - thanks

Not that I’m stalking him or anything, but John @Drumsagard has one.

Not sure if these photos will help?

Ah perfect !! thats just what I needed to see - many thanks

Are hybrid backpack/panniers an option?

I found this one as an example - Vario Lite | ORTLIEB

Those pics are five years old now, hopefully some other members here have the same case in use today and can share updated photos

I have a Lowepro BP 400 backpack, discarded the dividers and substituted the foam insert from a Lykus hard case, which fits the pack and the drone kit perfectly:

The Air 3S foam insert is here (comes from China in about 10 days):

The backpack is very comfortable to wear. Expensive, but rugged.

That’s a great idea @bryand

Another option might be the pick and pluck foam (of any size) which is readily available from Amazon et al.

Thanks @PingSpike and @bryand the links and photos make me think that the 450 will be more than perfect but not too overkill too

Think also go large then you have the space should I need it

I certainly have :+1: I’ve the BP350 AW II Whistler, a superb bag which is still going strong after several years of use. Holds my Mini 5 Pro, controller, my Nikon Z8 or Z6III (depending on which one I’m needing) plus batteries, filters, reflectors, and other bits & bobs.
