A great wee picturesque Village . Andrew Selkirk, a Scottish sailor who spent four years as a castaway on an uninhabited island is said to have inspired Daniel Defoe’s fictional character Robinson Crusoe. A life size bronze statue of Selkirk can be found outside the site of the cottage where he was born.
