MA2 buy now or hold off

So a mate had a MM and had it fly away.
His wife is going to buy a replacement for Xmas and has asked for advice.
With the MM2 coming out I wondered if there was any intel on the MA2.
I have a MA2 and would hate him to have a better drone than me, but I feel that I should give fair advice.
So. MA2 - buy now or hold off for the 3?
Thanks
Paul

The Mavic Air 2 was only released in April this year so cant see that being replaced any time soon. With the manufactures waiting for the new regulations and the current world climate I personally can not see any Pro models being released for quite some time. One thing that you could guarantee is they will be twice the price as the MA2.

The Mini 2 is a cracking drone and is available now at Argos etc.

That is exactly what I needed. I have found it (fly more) at £820 but it describes it as MA2 RTF. I think that it is standard. Strikes me as a good price.

That price looks like its between a standard MA2 and the Combo package (x3 Batteries etc). Fingers crossed its genuine. I certainly would make sure it was purchased from an accessible and reputable source.
£740 standard, £927 fly more combo with a 2 yr warranty.

This is the deal. I will check further today

All of the products are warehoused and shipped from Hong Kong.

In summary, you will probably received it, eventually but it might not be new new.

Honestly mate. I would check out someone like https://www.heliguy.com/dji-mavic-air-2-drone-p6748 or one of the reputable UK based stockist. Maybe a little more expensive but as you know these things are expensive complicated instruments.

Because of this, it’ll most likely be a non EU model. Any warranty issues, drone will have to be shipped to China, and they’ll only ship it back to a Chinese address.

I haven’t stopped hearing good things from this Mini 2. The Mavic Air 2 is also a great drone. Whatever choice she makes, would be a good one.

I think to wait for new technology is not always a good plan. And as @R0CKEYES mentions, there is very little hope that the Mavic Air 3 to be released anytime soon. There is a chance that we might hear from the Mavic pro 3, but that’s a different price range and not confirm, as regulations are still a little…

If your friend wants a drone, any of those two would be great.

Is Black Friday an event in the drone world? I wonder is there will be reductions to be had?

It sure is: https://greyarro.ws/t/black-friday-2020/21300

This is exactly the deal I got from Very which if memory serves Chris recommended for me (Thanks again Chris). I took the 3 payments over 3 months option interest free :+1:t2:
