Maintenance Upgrades to DJI drones

I’ve just had a crash with my drone and it has a cracked body and two rotor arms broken at the hinge joints with the pins shearned. It’s a Nafyre N11 Pro and doubt there is a service centre in the UK so it will be a write off.

I’m thinking of buying a second hand DJI Mini 3 or 4, What happens with software up dates for DJIs? In particular are there plans for Remote ID to be implemented for when it become mandetory after 2027?

Are there plans for updated classification stikers as well?

In what respect?

Check out the Modifications & Firmware Updates category and more specifically the firmware-updates tag.

We publish the release notes of all DJI firmware updates in there so you can take a look at what to expect in general.

In most cases, yes. The current generation of DJI drones already support Remote ID out of the box. It’s embedded in the firmware already and is simply geo-enabled so when you fly in EU for example, it starts broadcasting automatically. No need to worry about it, it’s supported.

Retrospectively, no.

DJI won’t be offering class mark stickers and firmware updates to end of life drones.

I also doubt they’ll offer them to any current model either. New models are now shipping with UK class marks already.

If your budget will stretch to a second hand Mini 4 Pro you’ll likely be safe for the next few years.

Also remember that CAA have a track record of changing the rules before a deadline :face_with_peeking_eye:

And Noel @southredblack — be sure to check out the For Sale & Wanted category (maybe even post a “Wanted” listing), we get some absolute bargains come up from time to time.

And what better place to buy than from a trusted club member

@southredblack one has just been listed in the For Sale & Wanted category

Thanks for the heads-up.
It looks interesting, but I’m holding off for the moment as I am trying to get my insurance claim with coverdrone sorted so I have a bit of cash to invest. I’m also toying with either a Lito X1 or most likely a new Mini 5 Pro depending on what the wife will let me spend. (I’ve already bought my `season Ticket for AFC Bournemouth so another grand might be a hard sell).

Don’t forget to add some Care Refresh to avoid…

You normally get a replacement within 48hrs, no sorting, few hassles reported by our members
