Manchester night-time Cityscape

Long story tonight, that ended with a crash…

Started out going to visit Salford Quays to try for some reflections of the dusk and illuminated buildings - plenty of room and safe - but Manchester United had some sort of event on and the place was swarming with about 35k footie fans, so no way we could fly…

So, instead we took a trip to Jacksons Crescent in Hulme to try for some citscape, took ages to get there due to footy traffic, so we were a lot later than planned, and the park was locked, so we TOAL from a pathway and all went well while we got this footage, until the last few seconds, using a POI I was flying sideways and lost spatial awareness, hitting the side of a tower block and tumbling 388ft to the ground. After half an hour of searching we found the drone, now to get it back to DJI.

Feel like an absolute idiot… I know better than this… Now I am droneless and have a week away in Orkney to play with the drone, gutted to say the least!

Sorry to hear that. So easily done with sideways flight :disappointed:

Yup, just lost spatial awareness, I shall take much more care next time, but the footage was awesome, so a return to fly there again - and to put to bed the negative emotions of the crash - is definitely on the cards, although not until I am back from Orkney methinks - dont want to tempt fate!

Hope your replacement drone arrives before you leave. Have a great trip.
