Mapping with mini 3 pro

First attempt at mapping with Mini 3 Pro. Nothing special but blew me away with its automaton

Map done with Maps Made Easy free

Done a few myself although if I did it over my own neighbourhood then it would be all over Facebook about drones spying through windows!
Mini 3 Pro is pretty good for creating 3d site models too.

Ill have to try 3d next
What software is needed?

Welcome to the world of photogrammetry @360Drones !

Maps Made Easy will do 3D modeling for you from images on the pay as you go plan (Maps Made Easy - Pay As You Go)

There are other vendors, but with this niche product it can get expensive !

The big boys are ones like Pix4D and DroneDeploy e.g. Pix4D cloud is currently 49 euro a month!! and that’s their budget offer.

But … other companies are starting to appear like Maps Made easy, Pix-Pro, 3DF Zephyr etc which are slightly cheaper. Regard3D is totally free but needs some tuning

I personally use Open Drone Map - they do a ‘one time purchase’ windows installer (now $64), but you do need a capable computer to run it (quad core, 500MB free disk space, at least 16GB of ram) … they do a ‘pay per model’ pricing system too, where the processing is offloaded to cloud servers, so your own PC doesn’t need to be beefy.

Hi Ximi

I have a ryzen 7 3700x 8 core and 32gb ram so will give open drone map a go

Thanks for the info
Much appreciated

That’s great - just a few places where you can see the joins, but can’t complain at that really.

Reality catpure is free now. And will have the most features out of any of the photogrammetry softwares out there. Tends to be gear towards film vfx games industrys but you wont find a better software. I use standers version of metashape too. And started mapping with dronelink.

Many thanks i will take a look

Meshroom is also free but there isnt much point using it now reality capture has been released for everyone. It is owned by epic games now so you you have to get it from therr games store

Looks good, I’ll give it a try

Sorry Hornet, never saw your reply. I mainly use Metashape Pro, but now that Reality Capture is free I have been playing with that and have to say its an excellent piece of software.
