Mavic Air 2 - Mv Aurora - Bournemouth

Saw this when i woke up today (we live on the edge of the beach) and had to send the drone out . A very quick edit …

Debating a night time flight out to it now … its well lit up …

I’m not sure we’ve seen any night time Mavic Air 2 photos posted.

I for one would be interested to see how it handles in low light

BRAVO!!! :+1:

@ 2:18 - the colours and definition are so cool!!

That’ll be the “black balance” at that time of night.

On the way out, it not yet being completely dark, just the hint of an horizon = spot on!

This definitely warrants the awarding of the Night Flyer Badge. :+1:

Apologies for colourful language but that is fucking awesome.

Was is it all manual flying?

Fantastic video. Out of interest did you hit any interference during the flight? I imagine those ships probably kick out some fairly strong emissions.

Just a perfect example of what the Mavic Air 2 can do, well done !.
Have flown in close proximity to a cruise ship myself at night, not easy !.

Chances are the ship’s biggest emission is going to be the smoke from the funnel.

I would not have wanted to be in the radar sweep line !, have had a Mavic Pro do a nutty dance on me before at that point !.

It was close to the limit i think in terms of distance but i think i dropped it too low (i was on a clifftop when i started) and it lost connection for a second …i lifted it up and it was fine the rest of the time… connection indicator was orange though …

Wow, excellent footage, I must say you are very brave, I don’t think I would trust my drone that far away over sea, I would be worried that it would drop into the sea.

The MA2 is a superb flying machine … so capable …

Balls of steel !!! - huge thumbs up on just doing it AND the end result.

If it drops it drops.

  • little pieces if it lands on concrete
  • one big lost piece if it lands in a forest
  • one big law suit if it lands in a person.

Water seems like a good option?

Slightly less of one if it lands on them

Someone will be along soon to say there is enough plastic in the ocean or what if it falls on a little fishes head.
