Mavic Mini in Strong Wind - for all our Atlantic storms rolling in

We seem to have more than our fair share of big storms rolling on at the moment, so I threw caution (and the Mavic Mini) to the wind and played around with different ways to get it to behave better when the wind is blowing hard… Managed to regain things after it starting blowing way off course… All good fun…

Really good useful tips and pointers here Ian. Some are common sense, but some - like flying backwards - I’d never have thought to try! I have a MPP so it may not behave the same but I’ll have to try that next time out and see if it works for the Platinum too.

I don’t think you’ll have any issues with the Pro Platinum; like the original Pro and the 2 Pro, it handles very strong wind fantastically. I did a video on flying the original Pro in strong wind and found you had to switch the forward anti collision sensors off to make sure it could pitch down and fly strong in high winds…

You can always do a “dronie” into the wind … set the height sensibly and just make sure (as usual) nothing is in the way, and that it is indeed going into the wind. It will go backwards (as suggested), and even if you dont want the dronie video it will at least give you an idea of what is likely to happen if you want to go wandering around!

That other video about the MM and strong wind…
