Mavic mini red & green flashin lights

Hi. Just joined the club. I’m completely new to drone flying and have just dipped my toe in the water by buying a Mavic Mini Combo. I’m still awaiting my compatible phone to fly it but have seen several posts on Youtube stating that you can fly these without a phone. I have tried this but my MM just flashes alternating red and green flashing lights. Any help with this would be welcome.

Have you activated the drone @Iangil ?

Normally the DJI Fly app would do this for you, but as you’re not running the app yet…

You used to be able to activate DJI drones using a Windows program called DJI Assistant - might be worth a look?

Thanks PingSpike. I don’t know how to activate it although I bought it second hand from a reputable seller and not sure if it’s been activated. I will give the DJI assisstant a try. Will post back if I have any success.

I’ve just rotated the drone 360 degrees horizontally and vertically and it flies indoors! Without a phone!

Sounds like a compass calibration.

Managed to fly the drone indoors twice without a phone. (Still awaiting my new one). The next time I tried I got the same red and green flashing lights again. Tried turning the drone around horizontally and vertically but nothing happens. Do I really need to wait for the phone to arrive or is there something else I can try?

What are you taking off from? Anything metal based?
Even a reinforced concrete floor.

This can mess the compass up and cause it not to fly. Difficult to tell without the display connected. Do you have a tablet around, doesn’t nessersarily have to be a phone.

What does the manual say for the flashing combination you’re seeing?

The only reference to the flashing red and green lights is when the GPS signal is weak

Is the tablet compatible with the fly app amd usable as a temporary screen.

No, Ive tried downloading the app on it but won’t let me as it’s incompatible!

if you have bought a mini combo, the little book shows a scan code for the fly app scan that and the app will down load then study it get settings done then ready to go.

I’d wait until you get your compatible phone so you can see what’s going on!
It’s not safe to fly blind! :sunglasses:
