Mavic Pro 2 Firmware upgrade?

Hi Guys after a little advise. Sorry if this seem like stupid question

The guys I usually fly with are giving me conflicting opinions and that may well be the case here. But I figure if I have a majority verdict I can make a more informed choice

Not flown my drone for over two years due to illness, (COVID) finally up and about. As the titles suggests it’s a Mavic Pro 2. I was using DJI assistant 2 for up dating the firmware on the drone and the controller. prior to being ill, and I figured it would need an update having been left in it’s case for two years.

I now find the DJI assistant 2 is no longer supported.i.e receiving updates, but it does show that there are two firmware updates that I have missed. I realise I can also use the DJI Go 4 app to update the firmware but this where I’m a little unsure.

One of the lads is saying I need to install each of the upgrade in sequence finishing with the latest.

Another is saying No, you just upgrade to the lastest Firmware and everything will be “Tickety Boo”

another is say that becuase it been left so long that I should in all fairness restore the Drone to Factory Default setting and then upgrade to the latest firmware. Otherwise my drone runs the risk of malfuction and flying off into the sun set without me or worse falling from the sky like brick.

I searched a few forums and not been able to find the answer. Which of the three is near the truth??

I’m probably going to pick up a DJI mini 4pro, as this is more like a stealth drone compared to my mavic 2, but I did get my A2 C of C just beofre I became ill. So thinking I’m going to keep her as she really does do well in the wind

None of the above

My first question would be: what firmware version are you on?

Then look here

Make a note of the What’s New? section and do you need it  remember if it works

Never update unless its for a very good reason

Just update to the latest firmware available, I often miss updates especially when they come thick and fast with a new model on the fly app but as long as you have the latest firmware you are good as far as I know .
Mini 4 pro is excellent but it won’t handle the wind like the Mavic 2

Many Thanks for the reply and exactly the info i was looking for.

Thankfully I was always told to make a note of the firmware incase of accident. when I got my drone it was on v01.00.0510 and I upgraded to v01.00.0670 in 2021.

Therefore according to notes above I only need v01.000770 as the latest is v01.00.0797 is only applicable in the US as it is in reard to the remotes in the US so ling as the controller and Drone are on v01.00.0770 I’m sorted than you

on another note the DJI forum was the one place i didnt check even though I am registered so another lesson learned there

Thank you
