Mavic Pro 2 Turning on itself whilst in case

Hi All
I had an experience the other day, I always check battery is off before loading in case, when I got home I could smell something, I opened the case and it was on , thinking I may have made a schoolboy error did not think nothing of it, but whilst sat here this morning I heard the DJI start up sound, ran to my case and low and behold it had just started up.

I have read on forums that DJI are aware of this problem, it could have fried it in the case

Anyone else had this problem?

Not a self turn on, but left it on when packing up. This was my MP1, wasnt till I got home I smelt it. :grimacing: It survived tho. My case for the 2P is big enough to house all 3 batteries outside of the drone so I don’t have the same issue.

Maybe something bulky in the lid pushing down on the button. Easy way take out the battery before stowing away.

Rather than having the battery connected unclip it and slide it back a little so that it’s still on the drone but not connected. I do this with all my top loading drones where the battery slides on. It might not stop the battery itself from turning on, but as it won’t have the electrical load of the drone the only power used will be that to illuminate the battery’s LED’s.

Thanks for your replies, the battery 100% turned on itself this morning the drone was in the case and has been since the other day it happened i came downstairs and was sat in the kitchen and just heard the DJI start up sound, had not touched the case, never had a problem with the Mavic Pro, or Zoom prior to this, but there seems to be a lot of discussion on forums about the same thing happening to others, I have emailed DJI regarding this

Thanks
Mark

Worrying too, for the gimbal - if the gimbal lock is on :see_no_evil:

That’d be my first guess too.

Out of interest, I’d be curious to lay out all the batteries on the coffee table / kitchen worktop and just keep an eye on them during the course of the day to see if they turn on.

Hi @PingSpike i have successfully recharged it and put it back in the Drone but not in the case out in the open.
I have had the same case for two years no problems previously experienced, it had sat in the case all overnight and just randomly started up this morning just weird and that is exactly the same as it did on the way home from a job, I always double check it’s off before putting into case.
I have read so many instances of this occurrence on drone forums and believe DJI are aware of it

It’s become self aware. Be concerned.

I have just had this problem with a 3rd party battery for my P2V which I bought via Aliexpress last year. Can’t turn the b****y thing off.
Not suggesting its the same problem but confirms you should avoid 3rd party batteries.

Update DJI have repaired??? Anyway getting it back anytime now, how they do it I don’t know as would not charge no life in it 0%

Like all their “repairs”, they’ll just swap it for a reconditioned one

Did you send them the battery in question? Or the whole drone and all batteries?

Just the battery as could not afford to be without drone due to work commitments els I would have sent the lot I am hoping it’s a new battery as only had 3 charges when fault occurred
