Max Height on AIR3

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

I updated my AIR3 on Friday, and on checking the settings I am sure I noticed that the maximum height slider had gone from a max of 500m (1500ft) to 1200m (3500ft)…

I know that it is illegal to fly higher than 400ft / 120m above the ground, and that VLOS has to be maintained, but this seems like a huge extra height allowance on the drone - allowing us to fly much higher when the situation allows it - such as up the side of a mountain!

Anyone else checked or noticed?

Maybe that’s why they’ve changed it. In case your flying from the base camp of a mountain :+1:t2:

Yeah, I could have used that extra height last time I was in Glencoe tbh…

Hi @AlbionDrones Suzanne I just found this posted on YouTube, it was posted about a week ago,

Air 3 on firmware v01.00.1500 and Air 3S on firmware 01.00.0300 both 500m here.

There was an update for the Air 3S which is the same 01.00.0300 (like it didnt update at all) and now it says 1000m Unless it was on the RC and I didnt notice that also updated.

You’d have to do just that to get within 120m of their summits as DJI have limited EU registered drones to 120m from TO point.:grimacing:

Not a hacked one :grinning:

Haha, yes there is always the badboy option, for sure. :sunglasses: :innocent::laughing:Does it work for the Air 3s yet?

My Mavic 3 has always shown 1000m as limit

UK gets higher limit, for now. Same as USA, AFAIK.

I also had a weird firmware update earlier in the week that did not change the version, but definitely did something as the aircraft flashed yellow lights and rebooted, so it wasn’t merely a glitch with the RC2 that thought it had an update…it definitely did something.

If they added additional height to climb mountains, that is a welcome addition. Seems they are unable to use the sensor underneath for height AGL, and is limited to detection for landing.
